Choosing the right material for your driveways is now easier
Though there are numerous installers of driveways scattered all over the UK, one of the most challenging tasks for homeowners is to choose a suitable paving material. The best driveway is the one which is both appealing and durable. With so many paving materials to choose from, homeowners often get confused. The best you can do is to get in touch with a driveway installer and they will consider your driveway needs before suggesting a suitable material. The focus is not only on enhancing the value of the driveway but the entire property without punching a hole in your pocket.
3 Tips to follow when choosing material for your driveway
Know the various paving stones
Visit a reputed company offering driveway installation in your city and they will let you choose from a wide variety of paving stones. Each stone will have a different texture, colour and visual appeal. Do some online research and choosing one from so many will become easier. Go through their features and the benefits offered by each. If you still feel confused, take aid from your driveway installer.
Choose the finish
Though driveways with both textured and smooth finish are equally popular, you have to choose one which meets your paving needs. If you want the structure to last for years with minimal maintenance, choose hardier materials instead of the luxurious ones. Concrete driveways have a textured finish and are widely preferred for their professional look.
It is not just about the texture or colour of your paving material, you also have to determine the thickness of the stone you are installing. If you think that thicker stones will last longer, it’s high time you debunk the myth. Consider the use of the driveway and you can choose a paving material with a suitable depth. Thin paving stones will suit driveways with more foot traffic while thick stones are ideal for heavy vehicles.
Natural Stone Or Concrete Paving?
Since the focus of every homeowner is on ensuring the durability of the driveway they are installing, experienced installers generally advice them to use concrete paving materials instead of natural stones. Not only do the latter need little maintenance but can also add a character to the driveway. If you want to reap all the benefits offered by the paving material you have chosen, make sure you approach the right driveway installer.

We chose Parklane following a recommendation and during the initial consultation, we stressed that we needed the work completed by a set date due to a very important 40th Birthday party we had planned, no pressure!!! The owner, Dan was honest with us and promised he would complete the job on time but this would require them completing the work in stages which we were happy with and also completely understood due to us leaving the request to the last minute, top tip as they are a busy company, consult with them early as they are in demand!!! As promised the work was completed on time and the finished product is amazing. The team that completed the work were friendly, neat and professional. I even caught one of them washing the front of the house after mixing some mortar which was not expected and shows their pride. The end product rendered us speechless, we were so pleased with the result and the reactions from our party guests were as expected, everyone wanted Parklanes number… I would fully recommend Parklane and we are completely satisfied with their work.
