High Quality Resin Driveways for Dorking, Cobham & wider Surrey
Parklane Landscaping is one of Surrey’s most reputable installers of driveways, serving Claygate, Cobham, Dorking, Esher, Oxshott, Reigate, Tadworth and all surrounding areas. While we work with materials ranging from block paving to natural stone, some of our most popular solutions are our resin driveways. Highly functional, resin driveways are both affordable and stylish –they’re a well-rounded modern option that can drastically boost the curb appeal of a home or commercial premises. Below, we’ve looked to explain the differences between the two types of resin driveways we build, bound and bonded, as well as a few of the desirable characteristics the two share.
Bound Resin Driveways
With bound resin driveways, a mixture of resin and gravel are used. This is laid down and smoothed into a layer that sits about 15mm – 20 mm thick. When finished, it has the appearance of gravel. Bound resin driveways are permeable, meaning water will soak through the gravel and into the earth. This reduces the likelihood that your Claygate, Cobham, Dorking, Esher, Oxshott, Reigate, or Tadworth property will suffer from standing water. These driveways have a smooth finish.
Bonded Resin Driveways
While bonded resin driveways use the same materials, resin and gravel, they’re built in a slightly different way. Firstly, the resin is applied in a thin layer, usually over concrete or tarmac. Then the gravel is placed on top of it. It usually sits 6mm – 8mm thick and boasts a much more textured finish. Bonded resin driveways have a rougher surface, which makes them distinctly non-slip.
This characteristic is seen as a big plus by some of our clients around Claygate, Cobham, Dorking, Esher, Oxshott, Reigate and Tadworth. However, resin driveways are non-permeable, meaning water will take longer to clear-off the driveway in the case of heavy rainfall.
The Benefits of Resin Driveways
Whether you choose the smooth and permeable option (bound), or the textured and non-permeable option (bonded), know that both types of resin driveways share some common characteristics, which we believe make them an ideal solution for both homeowners and companies in and around the Claygate, Cobham, Dorking, Esher, Oxshott, Reigate and Tadworth areas. Resin driveways are:
- Strong & Durable
- Low Maintenance
- Weed Resistant
